South Downs

Completed

ArdaCraft is a massive, ongoing collaborative project. These tags indicate where a specific location is in our development pipeline: awaiting construction (Not Started), actively being built by our team (In Progress), or fully finished and ready to explore (Completed).

Canon

Original locations created by the ArdaCraft team to fill in gaps left by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is carefully designed to remain completely faithful to the established Middle-earth canon.

The land before them sloped away southwards, but it was wild and pathless; bushes and stunted trees grew in dense patches with wide barren spaces in between.
– The Fellowship of the Ring (Book 1), Chapter 12

South Downs are a range of hills in Eriador, south-east of Bree-land and to the south of the Lone-lands. The Downs are wind-swept and unremarkable, without any features, save sparse vegetation and the occasional stream, lacking the defensive fortifications of the hills to the north. They are separated from the Barrow-downs by the North Road.
