Bucklebury serves as the chief settlement of Buckland and hosts Brandy Hall, the seat of the Master of Buckland. Bucklebury was built a mile from the Brandywine River, which was primarily crossed by using the Bucklebury Ferry. To the east was the High Hay, which protected the Bucklanders from the Old Forest.
